Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026

We built California Money Tools to be useful, not to collect your data. Here’s exactly what we do and don’t collect – in plain language.

Calculator data

Numbers you enter into our tools never leave your browser. We never see them.

Contact form

Only collected if you reach out to us. Never sold or shared.

Analytics

Basic, anonymized traffic data only. No personal profiles.

Cookies

Used by Google AdSense and analytics only. You can opt out.

01 Who we are

California Money Tools (californiamoneytools.com) is an independent website providing free, California-specific financial calculators and estimators. We are not affiliated with the State of California, any county assessor, the California State Board of Equalization, or any financial institution.

03 Your calculator inputs

Numbers you enter into any calculator on this site – including purchase price, purchase year, and market value – are processed entirely within your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers, never stored, and never seen by us or any third party.

All calculation logic runs locally in JavaScript on your device. Closing or refreshing the page clears everything you entered. We designed it this way intentionally – financial information is personal, and you shouldn’t have to share it with us to use our tools.

04 How we use your information

Contact form submissions

Used solely to respond to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your information with third parties.

Analytics data

Used in aggregate to understand which calculators are most visited, identify errors, and improve the site. We never use analytics data to identify individual users.

05 Cookies and tracking

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized traffic data. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google’s Ad Settings.

07 Advertising

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence the accuracy or content of our calculators.

08 Your privacy rights (California residents)

Because this site is built for California residents, most of our visitors are covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Depending on your circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it’s used
  • Request deletion of personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not collect any personal information from your use of our calculators – only from the contact form, if you choose to use it.

To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their own applicable privacy laws.

09 Children’s privacy
